Nigerian renowned philanthropist and business mogul, Captain (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo has called on friends and general public to beware of fraudsters and criminal elements who are impersonating him on social media to defraud unsuspecting individuals.
A statement personally signed by Captain (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo, read " it has been brought to my attention that certain fraudulent elements have recently engaged in the practice of impersonating me on social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram included)".
He disclosed that the criminal elements have taken it a step further by soliciting for funds from unsuspecting individuals in the name of contract incentives.
" Obviously, anyone in their right mind should be able to see through this charade, as such 419 practices are commonplace in Nigeria".
He continued " However, for the avoidance of doubt, I have now deemed it necessary to refute these practices publicly and to state categorically, once and for all, that I am not on social media!!! I do not own or run any social media accounts!!! I am much too busy to do so!!! Do not be deceived by images of myself, my wife or my children that have been put up online to sell this lie".
" Please beware of these jobless fraudsters!!! Anyone who gets involved in dealings with them does so at his or her own risk. This disclaimer is for your kind attention".
