Just In: Kogi PDP suspends its State Chairman

The Kogi State Chapter of People's Democratic Party, PDP has suspended the State Chairman, Dr. Sam Uhuotu, Fresh Angle International can report.

In letter of suspension read before Journalists and signed by 30 State excos of the party, the members passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of Dr. Sam Uhuotu.

Our Roving National Correspondent reports that the letter dated September 29, 2016 and read by the State PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Steven Onoji averred that they no longer have confidence in the ability of Dr. Sam Uhuotu to lead and carry the party to its desired destination due to his alleged constant as well as deliberate violations of the provision of the party’s constitution.

They accused the embattled chairman of deliberately refusing to call for the party executive committee members meeting since he assumed office, stressing that he prefers to stay in Abuja.

The letter went further to state that “(Dr. Sam Uhuotu) have deliberately refused to pass any information to members of the State Executive Committee, which has led to lack of party activities in the State, Local Government, and ward level.  The party as it is today in the State under your leadership has remained stagnant. You have constituted yourself into a one man executive, where you take and implement decisions without following the laid down provisions of the party constitution. After the loss of the party in most of the election, you didn't deem it fit to call for meetings to discuss the supplementary elections to enable the party strategize for those elections and assistance that can be rendered to our candidate involved".

Onoji also accused the Chairman of relegating the party to its lowest level which has resulted in the party losing election to a candidate it has always defeated by hundreds of thousands votes difference.

According to Onoji, Dr. Sam Uhuotu has failed to account for fund collected on behalf of the party and expenditures incurred, most especially during the last two conversations in Port Harcourt.

The embattled Chairman was later advised to voluntarily tender his resignation letter and immediately hand over to the State Deputy Chairman in line with the provision of the party constitution chapter 6, section 45(2).
