Lagos, September 30, 2016: Chevron Nigeria Limited on behalf of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education announces the closing ceremony of its 2016 edition of the National Arts Competition, NAC involving Secondary Schools across the country.
The event, which holds on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Grand Hotel, Asaba, Delta State, will feature an exhibition and award of scholarships and other prizes to winners.
With the support of the Federal Ministry of Education, Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL initiated the NAC program in 2005 for all Nigerian Secondary Schools to stimulate their interest in the field of Fine and Creative arts, and develop an avenue for the children to see their potentials of becoming future entrepreneurs.
The competition has thus far produced over 200 winners including other beneficiaries of scholarships covering educational disbursements.
The theme of this year’s edition, Waste to Wealth, aligns with Chevron’s commitment to using its experience, technology and perseverance to overcome challenges and deliver value.
The event will involve cash prize given to winner of the competition in the form of scholarship for the rest of his/her secondary school education.
In addition, the runners-up and other top performers will receive one-off cash prizes.
The other objectives of the program include, using Art to achieve patriotism about Nigeria from an early stage, generate visuals for Chevron’s internal and external communications vessels like calendar, greeting cards and exhibitions and to demonstrate CNL’s commitment to Corporate Responsibility and youth development.
Distinguished guests expected to grace the occasion include the Minister of Education and top Delta State Government official.
