Police arrest killer of Miyetti Allah Chairman in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command have arrested the killer of Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Ibrahim Jalido, one Umar Abubakar who allegedly participated in the assassination of October 2016, Fresh Angle International can report.

The suspect was arrested by the Police in Lokoja and paraded alongside 19 other suspects who were accused of kidnapping, culpable homicide, illegal possession of fire arms and hard drugs.

The Police disclosed that the suspect, Umar Abubakar has confessed to the assassination of Alhaji Ibrahim Jalido which took place on Saturday October 29, 2016 and he is currently helping the Command in its investigation to track down others who are on the run.

Our Kogi State Correspondent can report that although no exhibit was found with the suspect, the Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalagwu, says the adoption of modern policing has yielded positive results since he assumed office including the arrest of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and drugs dealers in Igalamela Odolu, Egume, Ankpa, Ibaji, Olamaboro and Kabba respectively.

The CP while speaking on cases being prosecuted in the court of law under his Command, says the Command is committed towards a crime free kogi State.

Among those arrested, one Ameh Happiness, an 18-year old girl, confessed to belonging to a gang of armed robbers and participated in three different operations, while Solomon Anthony and Enemona Godwin confessed to be an Indian herm dealer.

One locally made pistol, gun, military shirt and cap, a pair of military boot, operation belt, 150 wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were some of the items were recovered from them.

Other suspects arrested by the Command are: Idris Umar, Umar Mohammed, Hussain Yahaya, Ahmadu Kpanya, Adamu lamun, Yakubu Abdullahi, Hassan Abdullahi, Ekele Attah, and Yaro Ibrahim in which AK 47, pump action guns, 200 live cartridges, single barrel guns, dane guns, pistols,  axe, cutlass, knap Sack sprayer were also recovered from them.

It would be recalled that Fresh Angle International reported on Saturday, October 29 that unknown gunmen assassinated the Chairman of Wuro Miyeti Allah, in Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakah and that the assassination which took place at the victim’s home at Road 3 of Peace Community along Ganaja Ajaokuta Road Lokoja during the wee hour of 2.05AM, saw residents of the community gripped with fear and panic for over one hour that the armed bandits operated.

Eye witnesses who spoke with Our Roving National Correspondent report that the hoodlums of about 8 men or more, were able to beat the intelligence of Police Operatives attached to ‘C’ Division Lokoja as they passed through an unfamiliar route to gain entrance to the resident of their victim.
