Alleged Robbery Attacks: Count me out of your report, Delta CP tells Leadership N/P
CP Zanna M. Ibrahim

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Zanna M. Ibrahim has unequivocally distanced himself from a story published by one Kola Eke-Ogiugo on page 4 of Sunday Leadership Newspaper of April 23rd, 2017, captioned “residents flay frequent robbery attacks in Asaba”, stating that he did not confirm the story at any time.

The CP noted that at no time was he approached by the writer or his proxy for comments on any subject whatsoever, adding that the gory picture painted by the writer, portraying a state of insecurity and despair in Delta State capital and its environs is false.

He stressed that the reverse is the case as Asaba and indeed all parts of Delta State is peaceful, safe, secure and can be attested to by meaningful and credible indigenes as well as residents alike.

A statement made available to Fresh Angle International Friday April 28 by DSP. Andrew Aniamaka, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, reads inter-alia, “The CP reiterates that a statistical analysis on robbery related cases in the State between the periods May 2016 to April, 2017” demonstrates “the fact that there is no cause for alarm in the State”.

According to the Police Boss, the piece is either a calculated attempt to cause mischief and malign the Command, or the writer is not on the ground and fully abreast with the crime and security situation in the State.
