Governor Okowa’s emergence as governor of our dear State was greeted with anxiety and expectation of all sorts.
Having being profiled with an all time best ‘Political Resume’ when compared to previous governors that has governed Delta State. Suffice to say that the man has shown incompetence, docility and ineptitude in handling the affairs of the state.
I listened to Governor Nasir El rufai of Kaduna state some few months ago when he affirmed very strongly in public that Kaduna state is not in recession. That is a state whose Federal Account and Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation is no way near that of Delta State. Okay, let me even talk of our next door Niger Delta neighbor, Rivers State that is presumably govern by a less-intellectually inclined Wike, the story is awesome.
Or is it Edo State? Where Governor Obaseki has dismantled all illegal revenue collectors (motor park agberos) and a fast track industrialization of all Local Government in the state. That’s who people like governor Okowa calls a political neophyte ooo.
Is it Cross River? Where Governor Ben Ayade is doing wonders with massive innovative projects that meets modernity. But in Delta all my governor and his aides call project is resurfacing of roads repeatedly with tar sand that is been run by Government House contractors without capacity and efficiency.
All Governor Okowa can call two years of prosperity is the appointment of unnecessary array of needless political appointees and the use of state funds to fund his troubled political party even when pensioners and L.G.A. workers are languishing in penury. The governor only recently wasted over 200million naira in a pseudo town hall meeting across Local Government Areas of the state.
Since the governor took over, there has been an increasing poverty in the State owing to lack of economic plan and direction for the State.
His SMART AGENDA is nothing but a scam to settle the boys. The free prenatal and postnatal program for nursing mothers and children of 5years and below has been abolished. Also the intervention Mass Transit Scheme for Intra-City and Inter-City vehicular movement for Deltans that was initiated under previous government is nothing to write home about. DESOPADEC is already a write-off.
I call this A MONUMENTAL BACKSLIDE. Delta State has witness retrogression under Governor Okowa than any other government in recent time! WE MUST TAKE ACTION TO DETHRONE THIS STATUS QUO, because #OurMumuDonDo.
