The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli has charged the new leadership of oil-rich Omadino to deploy the funds accruing to the community in transforming and taking it to the desired level of growth, infrastructural development as well as ensure true empowerment of the youths through job placement and skill acquisitions programmes.
The royal father gave the charge Tuesday August 8 at the Olu palace in Warri while inaugurating the Dr. Robinson Eyekosi-Uwatse led 9-man Omadino Community Management Committee, saying “the time has come for Omadino funds to be spend properly instead of wasting same on unnecessary court cases and police authorities”.
He told the new leaders to always seek the approval of the community elders’ council before expending funds for development purposes, even as he tasked the elders and entire people of Omadino to support the new leaders.
The Monarch stressed that there can be no meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancor and disunity, noting that the new executive should also not fail to relinquish power at the expiration of their tenure as stipulated by their constitution.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Dr. Robison Eyekosi-Uwatse thanked the monarch and his chiefs, including the good people of Omadino for the opportunity given them to serve, saying that he would run an open door policy devoid of intimidation and threat of any kind.
Dr. Eyekosi- Uwatse who became the new Chairman after almost 16-years of bitter struggle, noted that for all his actions, “it would be Omadino interest first before anything” and will henceforth focus in the present and future growth of the community through education/health, project monitoring, land/litigation, reconciliation, security and traditional/cultural sub-committees respectively.
Members of the newly inaugurated Omadino Community Management Committee, OCMC include the secretary, Mr. Nelson Amiwero, P.R.O, Mrs. Matete Esther and Mr. Gabriel Ebietuomere as treasurer.
Others are: Mrs. Grace Yomere, Godspower Diden, Godwin Mogbeyiteren and Mrs. Tseye Mene.
