Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, says the murder of Joseph Pessu, by a solider April 2, during the COVID-19 lockdown declared by the Delta State Government, “was antithetical to the reason for the lockdown and its enforcement.”
 
                                                 
The State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, who made the statement Tuesday May 5, on behalf of Dr. Okowa, when he paid condolence visit to the Pessu Family in Warri, Delta State, asserted, “the unfortunate incident (of Joseph Pessu’s death) came with rude shock, because all the modalities put in place by the state government, was to check the spread of COVID-19.”
 
 
While describing the Pessu Family as a notable one in Warri Federal Constituency, Dr. Okowa disclosed plans of his administration to reach the children of late Joseph Pessu and the Pessu Family, immediately after the final funeral rites of late Joseph.
 
 
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, expressed gratitude to the state government, for empathizing with the bereaved family, saying the condolence visit shows that the state governor loves all Deltans, irrespective of their tribe and place of location.
