Two persons escape death in fresh auto crash

Two persons, a driver and a passenger in an SUV vehicle narrowly escaped death in a ghastly road accident that occurred along the busy Bomadi-Ohoro road, Fresh Angle can report.

The SUV belonging to the Religious Sisters of Charity Bomadireportedly somersaulted and crashed into a pit by the roadside in an attempt to dodge a pothole on the road.

Our Bomadi Correspondentreports that the vehicle which was loaded with goods was travelling from Ughelli to Bomadiwhen the driver lost control and skidded off the road.

The driver of the SUV, Mr. Haruna Adamu and a staff of Our Lady's Nursery/Primary schools, Bomadi, Diamond Beneakpo according to an eyes witness were trapped in the vehicle after it somersaulted into a dish.

A farmer, Mr. Lucky Utah whose timely rescue mission saved their lives said he was attracted to the scene of the accident by the loud sound of a crashing vehicle. He explained, “I was on my farm close to the accident scene when I heard a loud sound. I suspected immediately that something may be happening at the road. I quickly rushed out and met the vehicle upside down with two passengers in it. I called for more help in order to rescue them”.

The two victims who were quickly rushed out for medical attention were the only passengers in the vehicle. It was also learnt that there were no oncoming vehicles when the SUV was swerving to gain balance on the road before it somersaulted.

The driver, Mr.  Adamu Haruna who sustained minor wounds on his head told Our Correspondent that he lost control while trying to dodge potholes when he veered off the road and somersaulted into a pit. “I thank Allah that I survived”, Adamu stated.
