The Delta State Police Command have revealed how it arrested three robbery suspects notorious for terrorizing motorists around the Ubulu-OKiti/Issele-Uku in Delta State and how it recovered a forty-eight (48) hybrid batteries belonging to MTN valued at N 3.2 million.
According to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State, DSP. Celestina Kalu, Men of the Nigerian Police acted on information that the hoodlums who usually terrorize motorists around the Ubulu-Okiti/ Issele-Uku road had blocked Benin/Asaba Expressway, robbing innocent travelers of their money and property.
The Police Dragon Patrol team 01 quickly mobilized to the scene, pursued the suspects into the bush and arrested three of them.
The statement added that the suspects have confessed to the robbery and named other members of the five-man armed gang, even as efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects.
Following a formal complain by one Sunny Amua of Servitek Engineering Company, Issele-Uku, a subsidiary to communication giant, MTN, the Delta State Police Command through its patrol team has recovered forty-eight (48) hybrid batteries servicing an MTN mast.
The police patrol team which worked in collaboration with Onicha-Ugbo vigilante reportedly swung into action and intercepted one Mitsubishi L 300 bus with Reg. No. NEN494XA.
The occupants abandoned the bus and escaped into the bush after a hot pursuit by the combined team of the police and Onicha-Ugbo vigilante.
In another development, the police patrol team from Ugborikoko Division, Uvwie local government and the area vigilante has arrested one Ediri Osigeye following a distress call that a girl was being robbed with dagger at Otoroko Street, Ugborikoko.
A dagger and handsets were recovered from the suspect who is said to be a notorious criminal having a pending robbery case at the Magistrate Court, Effurun.
