Court throws out Omadeli’s suit seeking to be reinstated as Trust Chairman of Ifiekporo

The Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State on Monday March 1, reportedly threw out a suit instituted by Mr. Charles Omadeli, where he sought to be reinstated as Trust Chairman of Ifiekporo Community in Warri South Local Government Area, over lack of merit.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer, PRO of Ifiekporo Community, Comr. Monoyo Edon, explained that Mr. Omadeli, who was Trust Chairman of Ifiekporo Community between 2008-2010, was allegedly removed two years to the end of the tenure originally billed to last till 2012, by the elders and people of the community.

Fresh Angle International understands that Omadeli was ousted from office, two years to the end of the tenure, over purported misappropriation of N50m proceed from sale of Ifiekporo Community land to A&E Petrol.

The statement added that one Pastor David Okoturoh, from the same quarter (Ogunjala) as Mr. Omadeli, was selected to see out the tenure which terminated in 2012.

During Comrade Monday Agbeyi (Ughakporo) tenure, Mr. Omadeli, was reportedly restrained from parading himself as Trust Chairman of the community.

The case dragged into the tenure of Mr. Clifton Edema (Ughatie). In the interest of peace, the community decided to discontinue the case, because it had been overtaken by the emergence of Mr. Clifton Edema as Trust Chairman. It was gathered that the then leadership of Comrade Monday Agbeyi, which preceded Mr. Edema, instituted the case against the embattled Omadeli.

Mr. Omadeli, who allegedly battled the leadership of Comrade Monday Agbeyi (Ughakporo) and Mr. Clifton Edema (Ughatie) took the Peter Ede-led executive to court, asking to be reinstated as Trust Chairman, even though Mr. Peter Ede is from same Ogunjala quarters as him.

He first sought an interpretation of the withdrawn case, which he had purportedly bandied around as court judgement and later returned to court with yet another prayer, seeking enforcement of the withdrawn case, which he and his lawyer allegedly interpreted as court judgement in his favour.

According to Mr. Edon, the implication of the judgement is that should Mr. Charles Omadeli continue to parade himself as Trust Chairman of the Community, the Peter Ede-led executive and the entire community can arrest him for perceived impersonation.
