Chemist, Ataikiru illustrates how she built a house with plastic bottles

An erudite scholar of Chemistry and Chief Lecturer in College of Education, Warri, COEWA, Dr. Helen Ogagaoghene Ataikiru, has illustrated how she built a house with disposed plastic bottles, showcasing a practical way of converting waste to wealth.

Fresh Angle International understands that Dr. Ataikiru, gave the illustration Tuesday March 9, while delivering a lecture titled: ‘Waste - Liability and Asset to National Development’, during the 5^th inaugural lecture series of College of Education, Warri in Delta State.

Public Relations Officer of COEWA, Vusi Owarieta Enakarhire, reports that Dr. Ataikiru, took the audience through the negative impact of waste to the society, when not properly managed.

The Provost of College of Education, Warri, Prof. Mary Olire Edema, in her remarks, defined an academician as one who carries out teaching, research and community service, stating that if researches are adequately conceived, the results would solve societal problems and contribute to the body of knowledge.

The Lecture was graced by Chairman of the College Council, Mr. Vanda-Puye O.T Abanum; HRM, Hon. Anthony Efekodha, the Ovie of Enwhe; a member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguson Onwo; President and members of Isoko Development Union as well as academics from other Institutions.

The series of inaugural lectures of the College, was introduced in 2018, by the Prof. Mary Edema led Administration. As a result of COVID-19, the series was put on hold, till February, this year and will run back-to-back till June this year.
