Auchi Poly SUG commends re-appointment of Idogho as Rector
Mrs. Idogho

The student Union of Government, SUG, of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State has commended the federal  government for re-appointing Dr. (Mrs.) Philipa Idogho as Rector.

In a press statement sent to Fresh Angle, the Institution’s SUG President, Osaro Louis described Mrs. Idogho’s re-appointment as a testament of “her tremendous impact to the institution”, which according to him has made the institution world class.

The statement mentioned the functional FM station of the school, the recent ranking of the institution as the best Polytechnic in Nigeria as well as the construction of an extended campus as some of the achievements of Mrs. Idogho which has merited her re-appointment. “I was not surprised when I heard that the rector has been appointed for the second time without any pandemonium on her way. Where do I start from in giving account of her great achievement which has brought this school from its sense of ridicule to an acceptable standard? It was during the tenure of Mrs. Idogho that the extended campus two was built”, the SUG President averred.

The SUG Public Relations Officer, Umaru Azeez while addressing students of the institution shortly after Mrs. Idogho’s re-appointment, denied insinuations that the current SUG is an appendage of Dr. (Mrs.) Philipa Idogho. He condemned the activities of some youths who were allegedly used by “some political juntas” to protest against the re-appointment of Mrs. Idogho” and described them “as enemies of progress to both the success of their academics and the country in general”.

Fresh Angle reliably gathered that some youths who carried an empty coffin recently stormed Federal Polytechnic, Auchi to protest against the re-appointment of Mrs. Idogho as Rector, while some youths who allegedly came from South Ibie in Auchi launched a counter protest.

Report says security has been beefed up in the school premises to forestall any breakdown of law and order as a result of the protests.
