Odonmeta is now State Chairman of ACNPN

The Delta State Chapter of the Association of Community Newspapers Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN) has elected Mr. Femi Odonmeta as it new Chairman.

Odonmeta, who is the Publisher of Warri Voice Newspaper, defeated Prince Orhomonokpaye Publisher of Delta Guide Newspaper and Mr. December Gboru of Rural Front Magazine by 8 votes to 7 votes and 4 votes respectively in a keenly contested election which also witnessed the emergence of a new exco for the body in Delta State.

Other members of the new Exco include Felida Essi of Isoko Mirror who defeated Mr. Nwaham Wendi of Ika Height by 17 votes to 2 votes.

The rest are Mr. Patrick Ochei ofAmoma Trust as Secretary, Dr. Duke Awana of Front line Newspaper as Treasurer,Mr. Charles Umejei of Natural Trumpet as Publicity and Organising Secretary,Mr. Tome Amrobaroh as Internal Auditor, Mr. Preye Foh of Ijaw Voice as Financial Secretary and Mr. Precious of Ndokwa Trumpet as Provost, all of whom were returned unopposed.

The election was conducted by the electoral committee headed by Mr. Jude Obiyemeyo and supported by Ebule Anthony of Fresh Angle Newspaper and the Publisher of Current Events Magazine.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Mr. Femi Odonmeta pledged to carry all members along as he intends to run an open door executive that will ensure that ACNPN returns to its lofty height.

Mr. Odonmeta popularly known as Chief Olegwa urged all members to maintain the highest level of professionalism and employ the respective newspapers as tools to promote love, peace, mutual co-existence and development in Delta State.

The new ACNPN Exco will be in office for the next three years.
