Hon. Dr. Liege Lord Keston Okoro Muhammed Al-Amin, was former member of the Delta State House of Assembly for Udu Constituency. He left the PDP for APC recently and has led hundreds of PDP members into the APC since his defection. In this interview with our correspondent, Dr. Liege Lord Keston Okoro disclosed why The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege must be elected governor of Delta State in 2023 ahead of his declaration on Thursday. Excerpt:
Why do you think Omo-Agege deserves the votes of Deltans to be Governor?
Keston: The reason why we must vote for Ovie Omo-Agege are too many to be mentioned. First of all we want to thank Deltans, Urhobos particular and all Nigerians at large for the support and love shown to His Excellency the Deputy Senate President Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege the Obarisi of our great Urhobo Nation on his past elections not only as Senator representing Delta Central but also as Deputy Senate President of Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria. To God Almighty belongs all thy glory. Having acknowledged the Grace of God upon him and the support of humanity, you will also agree with me that he is a political juggernaut, a dogged fighter who rightly fight for his fundamental rights and legitimate rights of his people without compromising. Senator Omo-Agege is a personality with a heart of gold, he is compassionate .
There are numerous testimonies to the assistant he gave to our people across the state, empowerment and appointment he influenced for numerous people. There were persons and families in distress, many of whom he hadn’t met or even remember their names or faces yet he intervened on their situations. For instance, he appointed political aides from the six geopolitical zones of the country. That alone stands him out as a man with the right attributes to be governor of Delta State.
Can you please throw more lights on why you believe he must ensure APC takes over Delta State.
Keston: Prior to his emergence, the leaders whose efforts and contributions were never appreciated in their former parties, but were rather used and dumped, or treated like slaves and some who were indiscriminately embarrassed and humiliated have left their former parties with hundreds of their supporters to join the APC family and these were given a soft landing and were accommodated with unequivocal evidence of love and conviviality. The most distinguished deputy
Senate president Ovie Omo-Agege has encouraged many like that with handsome opportunities. When the deputy Senate President by his grace become the Governor of Delta State he will surely redeem the Urhobo people and Deltans in general out of their age-long political bondage and from the hands of the economy fraudsters that have frittered away our commonwealth. The deputy Senate President ,Omo-Agege is sharp, innovative and versatile. He loves humanity; he loves the people, in fact all persons. He does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, class or primordial sentiments that put a barrier between man and man, all his empowerment and developmental programs have affected lives across all walks of life and ethic nationalities. Great men are distinguished and recognized by their works , statements and contributions to humanity and nations building which the Deputy Senate President has demonstrated in clear terms.
As a philanthropist, a realist, an egalitarian and academician, a redeemer and a comforter who deals with the people with the fear of God at heart.
How would you describe the Deputy Senate President?
Senator Omo-Agege who is also the leader of the APC in the South-South has sponsored people-oriented bills; moved well-articulated motions, influenced a lot of projects and establishments to his constituency, Delta State and beyond.Enter Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President of the Senate, and the Obarisi of Urhobo land. He can be likened to the biblical Moses raised by God for the liberation of the children of Israel when they were in bondage in the land of Egypt. The position of the deputy senate president is a constitutional elective position and it is the first of its kind in Delta State, and second in the whole of the South-South geopolitical zone after Senator Albert Legogie from Edo North in Edo State .To be candid these are enough reasons for Urhobos and Deltans in general to accept the fact that as far as our present situation is concerned, no other person will definitely befit the position of the governor come 2023 than the most distinguished Deputy Senate President Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege the Obarisi of Urhobo Nation. He has paid his dues. He has done well and he truly deserved to be elected governor in 2023.
