Mr. Tode, who spoke to Fresh Angle International on telephone in the early hours of today, Thursday October 20, after posting a video of his property overran by the flood, stated: “Despite the concrete reinforcement in the floor of my home, the flood also comes from the ground. Many people have lost so many things. over 5000 fowls worth 30 million naira, fishes in over 50 pond worth 100 million naira, have gone. So many farms, have been covered with water and several houses have collapsed. The flood has been flowing for over two weeks now and it became more devastating in the last four days”.

According to him, communities in Udu Local Government Area such as; Otor-Udu, Ukpiyovwi, Oghior, Ogbe-Udu, Esama and Ubogu as well as Otu -Jeremi, headquarters of Ughelli South Local Government Area, have so far been submerged by the flood, even as residents of Emadadja, now use boats and canoes to ferry across major roads, including the major market in the populated town.
