How fire burnt bus, two trucks, office, near Warri Port
The bus filled with diesel that caused the inferno at Trailer Park, near Warri Port

Fresh Angle International can report that details have emerged of how fire at about 1:30pm Tuesday February 16, burnt a bus, two trucks and an office at the Trailer Park bordering Delta Ports, Warri.

A credible source said it was an attempt by a bus driver conveying diesel for commercial purpose to evade Policemen at the trailer park that led to the fire outbreak. The bus driver in a bid to make u-turn at the trailer park suddenly suffered disappointment as his bus stopped moving due to over-heat.

An observer who noticed that the bus was dropping oil, told the  diesel dealer, who immediately came down and saw fire dropping alongside the diesel under his bus.

Before anything could be done, the diesel conveying-bus exploded and spread to two nearby trucks and partly affected a nearby office.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that it was the timely intervention of fire service -men from the Nigerian Ports Authority, Warri, with the help of water provided by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, that prevented the inferno which lasted for about an hour from causing more damages.

Unconfirmed report says Policemen had earlier raided the trailer park in the morning hours of today and arrested some suspected diesel dealers before storming the park in the afternoon for more raids.

The Manager, Delta Ports Warri, Mr. A.G Umar warned those who do not have any business around the port area to stay clear.

The Divisional Police Officer In-Charge of NPA Delta Ports Division Warri, DSP Mr. ME Abah said they will investigate the cause of the fire and take proper action where necessary in order to avert reoccurrence.
