Rector describes Delta Poly, Ozoro as one of the fastest growing institutions in Nigeria

The Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Dr. Jacobs Oboreh has described the institution as one of the fastest growing in the country, adding that the vision  is to make the Delta State owned Polytechnic world- class and one that offers  21^st  century academic and technological programmes.

The Rector made the declaration weekend during the 2015/2016 Delta State Poly, Ozoro matriculation exercise held at the institution’s campus, Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the academic, the mission of the school is to offer technology-driven programmes for the award of National Diploma, Higher National Diploma and Competing Certificates, adding that the institution now has five(5)  schools, twenty-one(21) departments and thirty (30 ) programmes, which have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education(NBTE).

He stressed ”we shall continue to strive and work diligently to become famous in creative research and produce ground- breaking research output which has eluded many polytechnics and universities in the country.”

He charged students of the school to make good use of the opportunity given to them to learn as well as shun examination malpractice, cultism, sexual harassment and any act capable of truncating their studies.

Our Correspondent reports that Dr. Oboreh used the occasion to appreciate the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his financial support by way of prompt payment of staff salary and the release of his earlier promise of one hundred million naira to facilitate the speedy completion of the school stadium.

He also thanked the Honorable Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. J.  Sinebe, the Minority Leader, House of Representatives, RT. Hon. Leo Okuwah Ogor, NDDC, Chairman, Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, the school host community and others for their support.
