Massive fraud allegations leveled against ousted Ofagbe Progress Union, OPU executive

Controversy is brewing in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State following the massive fraud allegations leveled against the ousted Dr. Christopher Ogagaoghene  Akpotu led leadership of Ofagbe Progress Union, OPU, which remained in office for "approximately eight (8) years" as against the stipulated three years.                

The three -man executive of Dr. Akpotu which also has Hon. Emmanuel Akpokiro and Edafiyoma Edoro has been accused of "insensitivity and incompetence" in the management of the community's micro finance scheme which "recorded a huge loss of six million naira (N6,000,000.00)SPDC loan assistance for the people". 

They were also accused of conspiring with "Osifo family and sold a vast portion of Ofagbe Grassland (Udude) for the sum of three million, seven hundred thousand naira (N3, 700,000.00) knowing fully well that all grasslands in the Kingdom belongs to Ofagbe people".

Ag. Secretary General of Ofagbe Progress Union, OPU, P.I.E. Ireh in an address earlier gave reasons for the dissolution of the ousted Dr. Akpotu executive to include poor management of flood relief materials, rice fraud, missing fertilizer fund, infringement on the rights of movement and association, usurpation of the secretariat duties and lack of financial accountability.

Meanwhile, interim committees of ten persons have been put in place to manage affairs of OPU till December 2016.

Fresh Angle International leaned that the ten persons were nominated from various branches of the union and later ratified by the general House.

The committee which has Deacon Otuonuyo Kenneth as President, Prince Amos Ogumeyo as Secretary General.
