The Police in Delta State have arrested seven armed robbery suspects in Obiaruku, Ukwani Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement released to Our Correspondence by the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Celestina Kalu on Thursday, March 24.
The seven arrested robbers are: Okolie Nkem, Oshoiokpu Emmanuel, Okuku Azuka, David Danboyi, Edio Lucky, Monday Odeni and Ifeachukwudeni Chidi. They are reportedly responsible for various robbery incidents and cult related murder in recent times.
Meanwhile at Ethiope East Local Government Area, the Police in Isiokolo have rescued a 7-year old boy, Opone Great, unhurt from the hands of his kidnappers.
According to a statement by the victim's mother, Joy Emah, her son was kidnapped at Ekrebuo Street, Orhoakpo where he was playing with his friends.
DSP Celestina Kalu noted that on receiving the information, the Anti-Crime Patrolmen attached to Isiokolo Police Station swung into action combing the bushes and uncompleted buildings in the area. The hoodlums on sighting the security men opened fire and in the gun battle one of the hoodlums was shot on the leg and arrested, while his partners escaped.
