Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says pipeline vandals are as bad as terrorists and their activities should not be tolerated, stressing that “vandalism is an ongoing threat” that must be looked into with a view to putting a final stop to it.
VP Osinbajo made assertion on Friday April 15 at the Osubi Airstrip in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State in a chat with Newsmen shortly after an on-the-spot assessment of on-going repair work on the vandalized Forcados Terminal in Burutu Local Government Area.
Our Correspondent who was at the Osubi Airstrip reports that Vice President Osinbajo who was accompanied by Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Officials of Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, NNPC and other top government functionaries, noted that the damage on the Forcados Terminal has caused the country drop in electricity generation as a result of low gas supply.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa while speaking to Newsmen, stated that the country is losing 300,000 barrels of crude oilproduction per day due to vandalism of the Forcados Terminal, just as he revealed that repair work on the terminal is likely to be concluded on or before the end of next month.
