Workers, National Youth Service Corp, NYSC members and Industrial Training Students attached to NNPC Zonal Office in Warri have been denied access to the complex premises as members of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN begins strike Nationwide.
Our Correspondent who was at the NNPC Zonal Office along Warri-Sapele Road in Warri, beside Warri South Local Government Council Main Secretariat reports that security men probably acting on the directive of the Union stopped staffers and other personnel from entering the premises, even as the workers and trainees’ were seen discussing at the gate of the complex.
There were no visible placards or sign by the Union to show the reasons for the development, just as reports indicate that negotiations between the federal government and PENGASSAN to avert the strike was shifted to Monday July 11, 2016.
Despite fears that the strike action may cause another round of fuel scarcity, the product was readily available across Warri at the usual price (s) as at Friday morning when this report was filed.
