The Executive Secretary, Local Education Authority, LEA, Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Wilson Eyimofe Omor has vowed that any Primary School Head Teacher caught collecting illegal fees from parents/pupils will be dealt with within the ambit of the law.

He handed down the warning at his office in Warri, Delta State during a chat with Our Senior Correspondent.

Hon. Wilson Omor insisted that collection of levies without approval by the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will not be condoned by Warri South Local Education Authority.

The Warri South Local Education Authority Boss stressed that Basic Education in Delta State is free, adding that Warri South LEA is printing report cards that won’t be more than N400 per pupil.

According to him, Warri South Local Education Authority is experiencing shortage of teaching staff in Primary Schools and noted that if recruitment of new teachers is not done between now and June 2017, the situation will get worse and the standard of education will drop.

While appealing to the Delta State Government and the relevant government agencies to immediately address the situation, Hon. Omor lauded the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa “for steering the ship of Delta State without wavering”.

He thanked the Warri South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema for giving him the opportunity to serve the good people of Warri South Local Government.
