Newly inaugurated President of Unity Executive of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema says “NAIG was moribund because it was looked upon by many as an association of jobless and resourceful graduates”, assuring that his leadership was committed to change the misconception of what the Itsekiri graduates’ association is set to achieve.
While promising that NAIG will never again be divided after three years of factionalization and distrust, Comrade Edema stated that his leadership was determined “to make it possible, for once that Itsekiri Nation will have an enviable institution that will positively affect the general Itsekiri working class and give upcoming youths and students hope that Itsekiri have good plans for them”.

The new Itsekiri graduates’ President who gave the assurance Saturday July 16 in Warri, Delta State during the inauguration of his executive, recalled some achievements of his predecessors, including Free Extra Moral Classes for Itsekiri Students in Secondary Schools as well as Launch of NAIGFOCUS Magazine and disclosed plans to set up Reconciliation/Restructuring/Constitution Committee, Human Capacity Building/Employment Committee, NAIG Independent Funding Committee, Permanent Secretariat Committee, Editorial Committee as well as Education Committee in-line with “the spirit of the NAIGSTRONGERTOGETHER agenda”.
He thanked the reconciliation team led by Mr. Emmanuel Etsano for making the unity executive election cum inauguration possible and quipped that a NAIG Education Foundation which “shall be responsible to seek for funds to help indigent Itsekiri secondary school students in enrolling for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, NECO and JAMB examinations would be set up”.
Representative of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, Chief E.A Tetsola n a message enjoined members of the NAIG executive to work in harmony at all times, noting that the Olu of Warri stands for unity, peace and progress of all Itsekiri people as well as its neighbours.
