The Management of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, says the continuous sponsorship of Advance Writing and Reporting Skills, AWARES was borne out of the company 's believe that the foundation of any individual is the quality of education he or she acquires “to build professional capacity”.

The General Manager, PGPA Chevron, Mr. Deji Haastrup who gave the explanation Monday July 18 at the Pan Atlantic University, PAU, Lagos during the formal opening of AWARES 2016 explained that Chevron recognizes that its success “is expended on the quality of people we serve”.

While expressing optimism that hope was not lost in building the capacity of media practitioners because of PAU, Mr. Haastrup averred, “I find it disturbing sometimes to read the output of some media because to me, the media have three areas: accuracy, fairness and balance”, adding that the opportunity AWARES offers “is to make a difference in reporting”.

Responding on behalf of the AWARES 2016 participants, Segun Owolabi of Silverbird and Prince  Okafor of Vanguard Newspaper, thanked Chevron for the sponsorship and assured that AWARES 2016 will be the best compared to previous trainings so as to make Chevron and PAU very proud.
