20-year old Estate Management Student of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State, Franklyn Egbeji Kosi has revealed how he produced a Helicopter with locally sourced materials.

The undergraduate who made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy visit to The 61NAF Detachment Commander, Air Commodore Sani Zakari at his office in Osubi Airstrip near Warri, explained that he used waste materials such as “scrap, spoilt DVD player, cables, Aluminum roofing sheets and cotton”, without spending a dime.

While expressing his passion for the Nigeria Air-Force, NAF, Kosi stated that he will like to join the Nigeria Air-Force in the near future.

In his response, the Air-Force Chief, Air Commodore Zakari assured Franklyn Kosi of his determination to assist him in the area of research and development programmes in order to enhance his creativity.

Air Commodore Zakari enjoined Nigerian youths to be more creative and skillful, particularly in the areas of Science and Technology, even as he quipped that research is vital for the positive development and transformation of Nigeria.
