The Rector, Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro Dr. Jacobs Oboreh says the institution is one of the fastest growing in Delta State in particular and the country in general, Our Delta Central Correspondent reports.
Dr. Oboreh who made the declaration in a chat with Fresh Angle International at the institution premises in Ozoro, Delta State after the school successfully embarked on the construction of a standard stadium, said “for past four years, the school has continuously embarked on developmental projects and many programmes to the school”.
The Rector explained that the 14,000 capacity stadium which is ready for commissioning is part of the institution’s strategy is to drive education through sports, noting that engagement in sporting activities help nurture the brains of youths as well as discourage them from vices such as cultism and alcoholism.
He disclosed that the stadium was constructed from revenue generated by the Polytechnic in addition to the one hundred million naira which the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led Delta State government gave to the school.
