The Rotary Club of Warri District 9140 will construct a modern physiotherapy unit at Central Hospital Warri as its major project in the 2016/2017 Rotary Year.

This much was disclosed Saturday August 13 in Warri, Delta State by the 38th President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Daniel Agbofode shortly after his investiture.

Rotarian Agbofode, who won the 1997 Diamond Award for Media Excellence took over from Rotarian Griftson Omatsuli as President of Rotary Club of Warri after the latter completed one year of piloting affairs in charge of the district.

While describing Rotary as the foremost service organization in the world, the new President of Rotary Club of Warri harped on the need to extend goodwill to others, saying “a good done to one, touches several others”.

In his valedictory remark, the immediate past President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Griftson Omatsuli mentioned the training of 10 indigent youths as well as granting of starter-packs to them and the distribution of books procured from the United States for distribution to selected public and private schools as some of the achievements of his leadership.

In a message, Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro noted that the proposed physiotherapy project of Rotary Club of Warri is in line with the State Government’s SMART agenda.

Barr. Otuaro who was represented by the Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Barr. Ernest Ogwezzy stressed that apart from complimenting the State government’s health policy, the physiotherapy unit will go a long way in enhancing the health needs of people in Warri and environs.

Our Correspondent reports that awards were also presented to some Rotarians, even as funds were raised for the physiotherapy project with the State Government giving assurance of all necessary assistance towards the realization.
