Unknown gunmen have kidnapped one Mr. Moses Onivehu, a Retired Permanent Secretary in Kogi State Civil Service, Our Roving National Correspondent reports.
The gunmen reportedly kidnapped Mr. Moses Onivehu around Osara Village along Okene /Lokoja road, Kogi State on Sunday night, August 14.
Until his retirement, Mr. Onivehu was posted to the Kogi State Ministry of Health.
The victim’s wife, Mrs. Onivehu, who confirmed the incident to Fresh Angle International via telephone, said her husband was kidnapped at Kaba Junction.
She maintained that he was on his way back to Lokoja after spending the weekend with his family in Okene when the incident occurred.
According to Mrs. Onivehu, the kidnappers have established contact with the victim’s (their) children but they have not requested for any specific ransom.
“I have told them that he is on drugs and that they should release him for me, “she added.
It would be recalled that a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress alongside four others were kidnapped on the same route last Friday, August 12.
When contacted, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya noted that the Command was yet to receive any official report concerning the kidnap of the retired permanent secretary.
