Your book presentation is first of its kind, Warri community tells lawmaker

The eldest man (Olare-Aja) of Yonwuren and Agbeje Family Ruling Council of Ugbuwangue in Warri South Local Government Area, Pa. John Edede as well as Secretary of the Council, Tosan Okorodudu have described the presentation of about 3,000 notebooks to indigent pupils and students of the community by the member representing Ugbuwangue ward in Warri South Council legislature, Hon. (Princess) Lebi Yonwuren as “first of its kind in the community”.

The community leaders stated this Friday September 9 at the Ugbuwangue Town Hall in Warri during the book presentation which was attended by stakeholders, including Deputy Chairman of PDP, Ekurede-Ugbuwangue Ward, Mrs. Mercy French, PDP Secretary of DSIEC created Ugbuwangue Ward, Mr. Weyinmi Onewutemi.

While thanking Hon. Lebi Yonwuren for her benevolence in preparing the indigent pupils and students for the incoming academic session despite the economic recession, Pa. John Edede and Tosan Okorodudu enjoined other well meaning individuals, institutions as well as corporate bodies to emulate the gesture geared towards promoting quality education and sound morals.

 In a keynote remark, sponsor of the educational initiative, Hon. Lebi Yonwuren assured people of her constituency of more programmes to alleviate the educational challenges of indigent pupils and students amid the current economic difficulty.

While appealing to people of her constituency to continually support the PDP and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the determination to provide more development in the State, the lawmaker explained that she embarked on the programme because children as future generation deserve to get educational support to go back to school.

She promised to do more for her constituents and appreciated elders of Yonwuren and Agbeje Family Ruling Council of Ugbuwangue and the Youth Chairman, Mr. Kingsley Willobi for their support as well as prayers.

Our Correspondents report that hundreds of pupils and students benefitted from the educational support programme.
