Okowa calls for sustenance of peace in the State

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has called on Deltans to sustain the existing peace in the State even as he assured of massive infrastructural development across the State in 2017. 

Governor Okowa who gave the assurance in Sapele when he inspected some on-going road projects in Delta Central Senatorial District, embarked upon by his administration, said that if there is the sustenance of peace in communities in the state, he was optimistic of improvement in funds to the state, which would enable government embark on more infrastructural projects especially roads in 2017. 

He disclosed that the road projects would be executed throughout the state especially in oil producing communities which have been neglected for long, adding that government would also focus on projects in the health, education and agricultural sectors. 

While expressing satisfaction at the level of work done on the projects, Senator Okowa commended the construction firms on the level of work done so far, affirming that his administration would continue to remain accountable to the people in the delivery of projects aimed at the socio economic up-liftment of Deltans. 

Our Delta North Correspondent reports that the projects inspected included the construction of a 600m drainage project on Adeola Street, the 796m Ogaga road project and the Amukpe-AT&P road dualization project all in Sapele local government area. 

Governor Okowa also inspected the 2.6 km Jesse road dualization project, and the 12.5 km Oghara-Otefe road dualization project, leading to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, both in Ethiope west local government area. 

Residents of the areas where the projects were sited appreciated Governor Okowa for giving the communities a face-lift and promised to secure the projects and intensify their support for his administration.
