UK group donates generator to Delta Hospital

A group based in the United Kingdom, Urhobo Elite Ladies on Wednesday December 14 donated a high-power generating set to the management of Delta State Government owned Central Hospital, Warri, Fresh Angle International can report.

First Patron of the Uk based group and prominent Chief of Warri Kingdom, Dr. Richmond Macgrey in a remark before the presentation of the generator, attributed the economic and infrastructural growth in Warri to the peaceful coexistence amongst  ethnic groups in the area

Chief Macgrey who is The Oritseboluwo of Warri described Urhobo Elite Ladies UK as an association of blessed people formed about  eight years ago in the United Kingdom with the sole aim of giving charity to the downtrodden.

In her response, Medical Director of Central Hospital, Warri, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Chukwuebuni described the donation of the generating set as timely, saying it will save them of electricity challenge being faced at the hospital.

According to the Medic, the hospital management had difficulties in handling labour issues, particularly as it affects surgery as a result of lack of electricity most of the times.

While assuring of judicious use of the set, Dr. Chukwuebuni immediately ordered its deployment to the labour ward in the hospital.

She commended the UK based group for the gesture and solicited for more assistance to enhance delivery of secondary health care in the Warri area.

The President of Urhobo Elite Ladies UK, Mrs. Mary Aganbi, while thanking the Hospital Medical Director for the warm reception, assured that more donations will be attracted to the hospital.

Mrs. Aganbi lauded the management of Warri Central Hospital for their hard-work in making sure they discharge their duties adequately despite obvious challenges.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that those present at the brief ceremony include Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, the Divisional Police Officer, Warri, C.S.P Kelvin Izuokumor, Mrs. Florence Pela, Mrs. Atiwe Esther, Bassey Eziomogho and S.P Nicholas Nnamchi.
