The Senior Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church in Warri, Delta State, Dr. Sunday Oke has alleged that the killings in Southern Kaduna was targeted at silencing Christians in Nigeria, Fresh Angle International can report.
The Cleric who spoke exclusively to Our Senior Correspondent Sunday January 8 shortly after a Church service held in-line with the directive by Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN that the day be declared as National Day of Mourning by all Christians in Nigeria following the mayhem in Southern Kaduna, asserted that statement credited to the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai that he paid to stop the attacks by Herdsman is “baffling and seriously disturbing”.
While urging Christians to “take their faith in their hands”, Dr. Oke admonished Christian faithful that “God shall fight their battle like He did in the Bible days for Israelites”.
Speaking in the same vein, The Vicar In-Charge of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Ugbolokposo in Uvwie Local Government Area, Rev. Gentle Joseph Imudje, condemned the killings.

Rev. Gentle Joseph Imudje
He described it as “awful”, saying “God will judge the perpetrators of such inhumanity to humans and mankind”.
Rev. Imudje appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to give adequate protection to lives and properties of Christians as well as other law abiding citizens, both in the North and other parts of the country.
