DELSU have zero tolerance for examination malpractice, other social vices-Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor, Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, Professor Victor Peretomode said Delta State University have zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cultism and other social vices. 

Our Delta Central Correspondent reports that Professor Perotomode disclosed this Saturday January 21 at the matriculation Ceremony of 2016/2017 academic session of the Ivory Tower.

In his remark, “all of you matriculating today should count yourselves lucky as not all students that applied for the programme was able to gain admission into the Institution, Delta State University takes serious exception to issues that bother on indiscipline, lawlessness, sexual harassment, examination malpractice and cultism.

According to the VC, a total of 6,045 were admitted into various regular degree programmes, while diploma programme has 230 students. The university currently has 96% accreditation status for all undergraduate programmes, adding that the school has grown from modest beginning to model citadel of learning, research and will continue to soar high in its academic pursuit. The institution has followed the path of peace in the pursuit of its primary objective which has resulted in harmonious relationship between the school and its host community.

Professor Victor Peretomode said, the Delta State Government is committed to the growth of the institution and therefore charged the students to make use of the opportunity to study hard in order for them to achieve their academic career. He said, “while you are here as a student, you need to be diligent in your academic work and be honest in the pursuit of your dreams”.

The VC congratulate the students for their successful admission and encourage them to take their academic work serious as well as follow the footsteps of their predecessor who are excelling in their various careers and contributing to the National and global development.
