Less than a week after scores of women, flanked by some youths marched major streets in Warri, calling on Hon. Griftson Omatsuli to run for Warri South Chairmanship seat in the forthcoming Local Government election, commercial tricycle riders in Warri under the auspices of Great Riders’ Association, Okere and Ugbuwangue Units have stepped up the advocacy campaign .

The Tricyclists who rode to the New World City, Ugbuwangue, home of Hon. Griftson Omatsuli on Wednesday February 1 carried placards with inscriptions such as “Hon. Griftson Omatsuli Is Our Choice, “Hon. Griftson Omatsuli, one for all”, “Hon. Griftson Omatsuli 4 Chairman”, and “Hon. Griftson Omatsuli is the Man”.

Led by Chairman of Ugbuwangue Unit of the Association, Zakari Ibrahim and Dejor Mene of Okere Unit, the Tricyclists chanted, “Na you we want o, na you we want o”, decrying perceived neglect by successive goverments.

Dejor Mene who spoke on behalf of the trycyclists said, “government has not been carrying us along, we have been oppressed over the years. Only Hon. Omatsuli can change that for us, we will still come back to take him to the streets for the people to know that he is the man we want”.

Hon. Omatsuli who was visibly surprised, avered, “I don’t know what to say. You people have consistently showed interest in me and I will not change my disposition towards the grassroots people. It won’t be government of Griftson if given the mandate, but government for the people and by the people”.
