The Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, has warned that it will not tolerate any attempt to sweep the death of Master Alex Timileyin Akpor Chamuke under the rug, saying it will monitor the situation closely.
Fresh Angle International, can report that the warning, was contained in a statement issued this evening, Tuesday May 28 in Warri, Delta State.
In the statement, which was signed by the President and Secretary-General of Itsekiri National Youth Council Worldwide, Comr Godwin Utieyin and Comr. Appearance Afejuku, respectively, the apex Itsekiri youth body, called on the management of Ajayi Crowther University, to take concrete steps to address the issue.
The statement noted: “The Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, is shocked and outraged by the gruesome beating to death of our brother, Master Alex Temileyin Akpor Chamuke, at Ajayi Crowder University. We condemn this heinous act in the strongest possible terms and demand a thorough investigation by the university management.
“We urge the university authorities to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to book and ensure that justice is served. We will not tolerate any attempt to sweep this incident under the rug or cover up the truth.
“The brutal killing of our brother is a stark reminder of the need for improved security and safety measures on campus. We call on the university management to take concrete steps to address these issues and ensure that students feel safe and protected.
“We stand in solidarity with the family and friends of the victim and demand that the university management takes the following steps:
- Conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident
- Identify and prosecute the perpetrators
- Take concrete steps to improve security and safety measures on campus
- Provide adequate support and counseling to students affected by this incident
“We will be monitoring the situation closely and will not hesitate to take further action if our demands are not met. We will not let the memory of our brother be forgotten and will fight for justice to be served.”
