Ughelli South Chairman, targets potential revenue sources aside FAAC

The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, has disclosed plans by his administration to partner the Federal and Delta State Ministries of Agriculture, the Ecological Fund, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC and other sister development agencies, with the aim of exploring other sources of funding, beyond the monthly allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC.

Our Ughelli South Bureau Chief, reports that Dr. Avweromre, made the disclosure Wednesday July 24, during the inaugural meeting he held with staffers of Ughelli South Local Government Council, at the Unity Hall of the Council Secretariat in Otu-Jeremi.

The Ughelli South Chief Executive, promised that business fora, will be organized for people to showcase their talents and see how the Council can key into them.

Whilst stressing the need for staffers of the Council to be punctual, committed and dedicated to work, Dr. Avweromre, assured of his readiness to improve the working environment in the Council and ultimately boosts staff welfare.

Dr Avweromre, who was the foremost Leader of Ughelli South Legislative Arm, between 1999 and 2002, said he was happy to be back and that his administration is anchored on a four -point agenda, which are peace, unity, innovation and development.

He emphasized that his administration would key into the M.O.R.E Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, so as to attract developmental projects to the local government area.

The Ughelli South Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Emmanuel Fovie, who spoke on behalf of staffers of the Council, assured that they were ready to cooperate with the Dr. Avweromre’s administration, in the task of delivering effective grassroots governance.
