Warri-based businessman, Samuel Esiegbuya, has written the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State, demanding that the case of alleged threat to his life, intimidation and malicious damages to property by one Mr. Jimoh Abubarka Francis, should be immediately retrieved from the Investigating Police Officers (IPO's) and reassigned to another Officer.
In the petition made available to Fresh Angle International, Friday September 13, Esiegbuya, purported that information at his disposal suggests that Mr. Francis, whose bank accounts was reportedly “blocked prior to the investigation 20th May 2022 on the Order of Court of Competent jurisdiction”, “has now been unbelievably unfrozen, without my knowledge, neither the involvement of Court that granted the subsisting and or valid freezing Order.”
Esiegbuya, who copied the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in the petition, said he was threatened with a premonition that any delay in reassigning the case, might cause irreparable damage to the merit and “apparently circumvent justice.”
He appealed: “I am writing expressly that the Case file on the above subject matter be immediately retrieved from the Investigating Police Officers (IPO's) under Superintendent of Police (Spol) Raphael Edai of currently Anti Kidnapping Section and possibly reassign same to a transparent, capable, result oriented and incorruptible Officers in the zone to handle discreetly and dispassionately.”
