The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, says it will collaborate with oil and gas major, Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL for construction of " the 70.75km Omadino - Okerenkoko - Escravos Road in Delta State."
Fresh Angle International can report that the proposed road project which was among critical requests Chief Ayirimi Emami tabled before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu two weeks ago, is essential for connecting Warri to Escravos (Ugborodo) a vital area for oil and gas activities.
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, in a statement released on NDDC X handle this evening, emphasized the project's importance in enhancing oil production and boosting economic activities in the region.
He highlighted the government's commitment to stakeholder engagement and the implementation of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative to accelerate the road's construction.
Ogbuku also referenced the successful collaboration between the NDDC and Shell Petroleum on the Ogbia-Nembe Road project, considering it a model for future partnerships.
He mentioned the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) to collaborate on sustainable development projects, reflecting a strategic approach to secure funding and support for both ongoing and new initiatives.
