Soldiers from Alor Close in Enerhen Road, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have allegedly molested and abused female youngsters to obey the 10:00PM curfew imposed on Keke (tricycle) operators, Fresh Angle International investigations have revealed.
Our Correspondent gathered that the Soldiers who are close neighbours to Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor Close, accost people who are walking home late from the hours of 10:00PM to 1:00AM, command them to strip naked, crawl into the gutter, roll on the road, flog them and allegedly rape a few of them.
It was also gathered that these punishment was not only melted out to women but men also, yet the female youngsters were easy prey as most of them come from party and most of the victims are those coming from a nearby Hotel.
A smallish mother of three who was also mistaken for a youngster, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that she was a victim recently. She recounted that on that fateful day, she was returning home late when she was accosted by the Soldiers who asked her where she was coming from. When she saw those who were there before her been asked to strip naked, she immediately told them that she is a mother of three, on her way home to meet her children. She was released only after the soldiers saw and abused her folded belly.
Further investigation revealed that the trend of Alor Soldiers accosting people who are returning home late started in January with the former Soldiers and even though new soldiers have been deployed, the status quo remained the same.
