A leader in Dibi Field, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Jonathan Duris Orugboh, has advised Itsekiri youths to awaken their creative instincts and look beyond oil, instead of "spreading false narratives in media about High Chief Government Ekpemupolo's Tantita Security Services Limited."
Orugboh, spoke in reaction to a social media post, which accused him and some other Itsekiri leaders in Dibi Field of turning blind eyes to alleged attack of some Itsekiri riverine communities, because they were summoned to Oporaza by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and given 51 pipeline surveillance slots.
The Warri North community leader, who spoke to Fresh Angle International Saturday December 21 at his office in Warri, noted: " Tantita, doesn't give me anything to eat. My business is not oil (crude oil) related. It seems some of these Itsekiri youths posting fake stories about Tantita on social media platforms, are interested in crude oil theft or pipeline vandalism.
" Their actions also give the impression that they don't want security agencies to properly investigate the pipeline blast and prosecute those responsible for the economic sabotage.
" I can boldly tell you that officials of Tantita, didn't invade or take anything away from Itsekiri communities in Dibi Field as the propagandists are claiming. "Itsekiri youths should look beyond oil and use their God - given knowledge, to earn genuine living, rather than jumping into security - related issues they know nothing about."
According to him, instead of"the lies being told about Tantita Security Services Limited," the company, should be commended for checking sea piracy and crude oil theft, apart from the pipeline surveillance job awarded to it by NNPCL
He added: " Contrary to insinuation that leaders of Ureju, Eghoro, Tisun, Sagharatie, Kolokolo and Usor, were summoned to Oporaza for a meeting, the interaction between officials of Tantita and the Dibi Field leaders, was held at an hotel near Warri and slots were allocated to Dibi Field," in - line with Tantita's operational policy of respecting the Local Content Act, as regards the job awarded to it by NNPCL.
