19years after the James Ibori administration of Delta State, awarded the 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Bridges and Access Road, current Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Thursday December 4, announced completion of the multi-billion-naira project.
The governor, who made the announcement on his Facebook page in the early hours of Thursday, noted that the project which comprises 15 bridges of various spans, is a deeply cherished milestone for the Itsekiri people.
Oborevwori, described completion of the project, which slowed down during the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration, as a promised made and a promise kept, disclosing that the project is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026.
Fresh Angle International, had reported on Tuesday September 3, 2024, how Governor Oborevwori vowed to complete the project “within the next two years”.
The Governor, had given the assurance at Ode-Itsekiri, when he undertook an on-the-spot assessment of the project from the Ifiekporo axis of Warri upland to Ode-Itsekiri, the traditional headquarters of Itsekiri people, promising continued funding to ensure prompt completion of the project.
