The African Action Congress (AAC) has elected renowned Indigenous Peoples’ Rights advocate, environmentalist, and community development promoter, Ojumude Tosan Bishop, as its flag bearer for the Warri Federal Constituency after the party’s Delta State primaries conducted over the weekend in Asaba.
Reacting to his emergence, Bishop thanked party faithful, supporters, and constituents for the trust and support extended to him, while reaffirming his commitment to pursuing legislative reforms centered on ethnic inclusion, Indigenous peoples’ rights, environmental justice, and the advancement of marginalized minority communities if elected into the Green Chamber of the National Assembly. Speaking on his vision, he stated;
“It is time to make laws that ensure genuine ethnic inclusion in governance, respect, protect, and promote Indigenous peoples’ rights, and make marginalized minority communities a priority in national development and political representation.”
Prior to securing the party’s ticket, Bishop had built a reputation for advocating people-focused representation, sustainable development, youth empowerment, environmental protection, and fair governance that accommodates the interests and aspirations of every community within the constituency.
Observers within political and civic circles have described his emergence as a major boost for advocates of social justice, minority rights, environmental sustainability, and grassroots-oriented governance in Delta State.
