Nigeria's production quantum to dip as Itsekiris threaten shutdown of Chevron Tank Farm, other critical facilities

Baring any last minute changes, Nigeria's crude oil production quantum, may dip in the next 24 hours, if the Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality, execute its  threat of shutting down Chevron Nigeria Limited Tank Farm in Ugborodo, Warri South - West Local Government Area as well as the company's Dibi and Olero Flow Stations in Warri North Local Government Area.

Other critical oil and gas facilities, facing imminent shutdown by angry Itsekiris in the next 24 hours , include Renaissance operations in Otumara, Ogidigben and Makaraba Flow Stations.

The angry Itsekiri youths, warned on Monday, June 8, that the aforesaid critical national assets, including all coastal offshore operations, would suffer shutdown, if the federal government fails to address what they described as " Tompolo's recklessness and ignorance."

Some Ijaw women, allegedly acting on the orders of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, invaded Chevron Nigeria Limited Mini Abiteye flow station in the early hours of Monday June 8, with the intent as usual to disrupt the company's operation.

President of Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, Comrade Appearance Afejuku, who spoke on the development, stated:"If the  federal government had  been proactive at the early stages  of the whole delineation controversy by hitting the big hammer on those  INEC Staff MEMBERS, who perpetuated the delineation fraud, just this is about to unleash a dire economic disaster on the nation, the situation, wouldn't have gotten to this level. 

"This was exactly how Nigerians warned the Federal Government decades ago of the activities of criminal element, whom today are the bandits and terrorists and it was all left unattended, this is another developing issue that is about to completely crumble the nation’s economy…!" 

He further alleged that the office of the NSA, National Boundary Commission, and INEC are allegedly sabotaging National Interest for their personal gains from returns in TANTITA Security Contracts 

The rising tension,  which began with media war between Itsekirs, Ijaws and Urhobos in Warri Federal Constituency, is as a result of the unending controversy surrounding the proposed delineation of units, wards and constituencies in Warri Federal Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
