LG Poll: Why Bateren should produce the next Warri South-West Chairman, Group
Prince Moses Orubu Fregene

A political pressure group, Bateren Political Movement, BPM says it’s the turn of Bateren Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area to produce the next Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government, insisting Prince Moses Orubu Fregene, a distinguished son of Bateren is the right man for the plum job.

The Bateren Political Movement, BPM in a statement released Tuesday April 18 through its Spokesman, Comrade Emiko Odin Etuwere commended the unity of purpose that has been exhibited by political leaders in Warri South-West Local Government Area since 1999 and enjoined political leaders/stakeholders in the other Benin River communities to support Prince Moses Orubu Fregene’s chairmanship ambition in the same spirit of unity.

According to BPM, Bateren is the only Benin River Community that has not been privileged to get any key political position in Warri South-West Local Government Area since 1999, adding that its sister communities: Deghele, Orere and Bobi-Olobe have been given the necessary support by political leaders in Bateren in the key political positions so far enjoyed by political gladiators from the other communities.

Fresh Angle International checks reveal that while Deghele Community produced the current Secretary to Warri South-West Local Government as well as PDP Chairman for Warri South-West Local Government, Bobi-Olobe Community has Hon. Daniel Omayone Mayuku, the member representing Warri South-West Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly and Orere produced the immediate past Vice Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Council Transition Committee.

While noting that political stakeholders in Warri South-West have agreed that the position of the next Chairman of Warri South-West be zoned to Benin River axis, the Bateren group asserted that all those appointed Special Assistants to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa are from their three sister communities, thus making the candidacy of Prince Moses Fregene a reasonable choice, based on the principle of equity as well as justice.
