Police parades 33 suspects in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command have paraded 33 suspects over alleged involvement in armed robbery, culpable homicide, illegal possession of fire arms and hard drugs, Our Kogi State Correspondent reports.

The suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.

Parading the suspects Wednesday May 24, the Deputy Commissioner of Police In-Charge of Operations, DCP in Kogi State, Edward Egbuka said one Salami Yakubu from Ankpa, residing at Oyangede Ohimini Local Government of Benue State was making enquires about whom to sell a Beretta Pistol to, before he was arrested. 

Some suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, namely: Ugbogada Wada, Abdul Mudi AKA Adamu Faruna, Nuhu Usman AKA Lambisa and others were intercepted by Men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Egume, Anyingba, Itobe and Adogo.

Four suspects according to the police were also arrested at Aiyetoro Kiri in Kabba Bunu Local Government with two AK 47 and twenty seven rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition.

Fresh Angle International can also report that other items recovered from the suspects includes locally made revolver pistols, vandalized armored cables, white colour Nissan Sunny vehicle with registration number YAB 980AL Abuja, Ash colour Toyota Carina two vehicles with registration number 479- FFA Kwara, plasma television and weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp.

The command also arrested a suspect who escaped from Koton Karfe Prison during a jail break some years back.

Earlier, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu at a ceremonial function in Lokoja decorated three Police Officers who were newly promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and the Assistant Commissioner of Police respectively.
