The wife of the Transition Committee Chairman of Bomadi local government, Mrs. Miebi Olorogun has presented gift items to the sick and the first baby of the year in the local government.

Mrs. Olorogun who made the presentation at the Bomadi General Hospital and clinics across the local government on new year day to the sick and first baby of the year, stated that the gesture was to show her passion for the sick, particularly on a new year day and to identity with them even on their sick bed.

The chairman’s wife explained that “the sick needs attention, they require psychological upliftment, which is part of the treatment process for the sick. It is also to let them know that they are not abandoned in a period like this. This is why I am here to make them happy and wish them a happy new year as they recover from their sick bed,” she stated.

She urged the sick to be prayerful and seek divine healing and protection. The chairman’s wife, while speaking to newsmen noted that the move was to emulate the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan who has touched the lives of the less privileged in the society through her lofty ‘I Care Programme’ in the state.

The number one woman in the local government who was received on arrival at the hospital by the Doctor on duty, Dr. Obonodi Chuks also rewarded the first baby of the year with baby of the year gift and presented gift items to other new born in the hospital. The first baby of the year in Bomadi local government, a baby girl who weighs 2.8k was delivered on Tuesday January 1, 2013 at 6:30 am to the family of Yeribuloukai-Emi Wareka-Emi received the first baby of the year gift.

She therefore called on mothers to care for their children, who according to her are gifts from God.
At the Catholic clinic, the Rev. Sister Michaellin O’Donnell narrated some challenges in health care delivery and called on the local government to do more in the task of quality health care delivery.

On their part, the parents and the sick, while commending the philanthropic gesture of Mrs. Olorogun, thanked her for the initiative and pleaded with her to sustain the good spirit just as she was treated with a special number by the mothers.
