A major controversy may be brewing in Nigeria following the conflicting figures reported to have been shared by the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC as July and August 2017 allocations, Fresh Angle International checks reveal.
While the National Bureau of Statistics, NBA was quoted to have released figures that FAAC shared N 467.85 billion among the three tiers of government as August allocation disbursed Monday September 25 (a figure that is N 184.38 billion less than N 652.23 billion purportedly disbursed in August as July allocation) several media reports claimed that N 467.852 billion was shared for July allocation.
The import of the several figures and reports monitored by your Soar-Away International Tabloid indicate that two seprate figures: N 652.23 billion and N 467.852 billion was reportedly shared by FAAC as July allocation, while the Delta State Government purportedly deducted the Local Government Council share of the allocation for the payment of primary school staff even though some of the primary school teachers spoken to as at the time of this report disclosed that they have not been paid.
A couple of stakeholders, especially in the Local Government Councils were at loss as to the actual amount shared by FAAC as July 2017 allocation, even as a source claimed that commissioners of finance that attended FAAC yesterday, Monday September 25 left the federal capital territory, Abuja empty handed, with strong possibility that State Civil Servants are not likely to get salaries before Nigeria’s 57th Independence celebration coming up Sunday October 1, 2017.
