As part of ongoing efforts to tackle the untidy areas of Effurun Market, authorities of Uvwie Local Government Council in Delta State, have concluded plans to set up special taskforce to ensure improved sanitary condition of the market, Fresh Angle International can report.
This much was disclosed Tuesday June 12 by the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake in a chat with newsmen during a Special Sanitation exercise.
While noting that members of the taskforce will be drawn from the various communities around the market, Hon. Onoyake said his administration will not tolerate indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the market as well as along the PTI Road, Effurun.
He explained, "What we are trying to do by His Grace before the end of the week, is to put a special task-force in place that will take care of the Effurun Market. There is no way I can be coming out everyday, because of the Effurun Market. So I have made up my mind to set up a special task-force that will comprise persons from various communities within the market."

The Council Boss stated that traders who flout the sanitation laws will have their wares seized and donated to orphanages.
While noting that the ongoing sanitation exercise in the council area will last for the next four days, Hon. Onoyake stressed, "we are taking it from the boundary between Uvwie and Udu Local Government Area and the boundary between Uvwie and Warri South Local Government."
