In what can be described as a renewed wave of extra judicial killing of suspected armed bandits, 2 suspected armed robbers were on Monday October 17 set ablaze by angry mob in Ugbori area of Warri exactly 24 hours after 2 others suffered same fate at the Airport road end of the city.

In what canbe described as a renewed wave of extra judicial killing of suspected armedbandits, 2 suspected armed robbers were on Monday October 17 set ablaze byangry mob in Ugbori area of Warri exactly 24 hours after 2 others suffered samefate at the Airport road end of the city.

Aneyewitness told Fresh Angle that the armed robbers had embarked on a carsnatching mission at Ekurede –Itsekiri from an unidentified woman. According tothe witness, the woman was stabbed by the armed robbers and in the process shealerted people in the area by shouting “ole,ole, ole ooooo”.

The witnessfurther alleged that the bandits were 3 in number but in the process of theirattempted escape, their motorbike collided with another transporter (okadarider) at the Olu Palace junction in Warri. Immediately the commercialmotorcyclists around sensed they were armed robbers who were ambushed by angrymob, 2 of the robbers were set ablaze, while the third member of the gangmanaged to escape on sensing danger.

Fresh Angle investigation reveals that incidentsof car theft and armed robbery have become rampant in the twin communities ofUgbori and Ekurede-Itsekiri lately. Matters came to a head recently when acommunity activist and businessman, Edwin Olowu Eyikinmiaghan was traced fromthe bank where he went to withdraw money and killed at the front of his housein Ugbori by gunmen, while a friend of his who was with him was also shot.
